The meaning of repentance

Look at the definition of repent:
re·pent /rəˈpent/ verb
feel or express sincere regret or remorse about one’s wrongdoing or sin.
That’s turning to God. You’re sorry for your sin and you turn to God. It’s not work you have to do. It’s you regretting what you’ve done. That’s it. Of course you have to do that as your turn to God for salvation.
What this does not mean is “make yourself right.” You can’t. It won’t work. You’ll end up in guilt cycle. It’s not fun. There’s no joy. That’s because you’re looking at yourself in the mirror the Devil is holding up instead of us looking at Jesus.
Church, can we please make this much more clear? Stop muddying the waters.
