Charlie Kirk Explaining Salvation and Grace

I just love this. I saw these two videos recently and here are the transcripts.

Some people might be here and you might have never been involved in church or whatever and you might say I came here for Charlie and you know I don’t know about this church thing. That’s fine. Welcome.

There’s a Creator that wants to get to know you, that gave you a gift so that you can live forever. You’re broken by your nature. You’re not going to get enough points on the scoreboard to get you to eternal life and there is a gift that you can accept that can get you there.

-The gospel in four words is Jesus took my place.
-The gospel in three words is Him for me.
-Two words: substitutionary atonement.
-One word: grace.

What is grace? We say that a lot. Amazing grace.

Well, first we must talk about what justice is.

– Justice is getting what you deserve. A prison sentence. A judge comes in and say you broke into the store, you get a year in prison.
– Mercy… as you go in front of the judge they say you broke in the store but you serve a month in prison instead of a year. It’s getting less of a sentence.
– But grace is that you’re sentencing hearing when someone shows up and says I’ll serve the prison sentence for that guy. That’s what Jesus gives you.

God bless you guys and thank you so much.

Jesus took your place. That’s grace. It’s unmerited favor. You didn’t have to do anything but accept it / let him take your place. That’s it.

This is why Christianity is different than every other religion in the world and no college will tell you this. People say all the religions are the same. No.

Christianity, unlike any others, all the other religions as you try to get closer to God, Christianity is God who came to you.

What is grace? We know what justice is. You break into a store and you get what you deserve. You get a month in prison. Mercy, you go in front of the judge and he says, you know, give you a week in prison.

Now grace is something different. Grace is that when you die and you face your creator, you may have a list of everything wrong you’ve ever done, ever. Private and public, omniscient, omnipotent, all of it. And a judgment is about to be given. You’re about to get your sentencing. And instead of mercy, instead of justice, all of a sudden someone steps up and says, “Hold on, I know him, I know her. I’ll serve that prison sentence. You can go live free.” That is grace and only Jesus Christ can give you that.

Perfect. Accept God’s grace – his graciousness.
